Me: I can't wait to find out what happens next.
Friend: You're the writer. How do you not know?
Me: My characters took over a long time ago. I'm like the reader who just happens to be writing the story I'm reading. And it is so exciting!!"
Friend: π What?
@JessShaut It's been a huge hit. I ended up getting a smaller one for my 4 and 6 yr old niece and nephew. They immediately ask for baby soap when they come over....lol. Now, I'm the favorite aunt AND sister. π
D15: The mother screamed, watching her little girl fall at the feet of the god.
"Please, don't hurt her."
"She is an abomination."
"She's not evil," the woman cried.
"She is," the god replied. "For I have deemed her evil."

Me: I'll write a summary of this new WIP and a short outline. Then, I can begin drafting.
2000 words into my "summary," I'm still on chapter 1...
"And apparently, I'm drafting."

@AriMeghlen @RPoli3 D9: The two have never interacting. The merpeople, in general, have history with the god, but that was centuries ago when he cursed them. So, my MC has only heard stories before now.

Her father's screams died once the tiny mermaid broke the surface of the water. She dragged herself ashore until her fin split to form legs.
"Mommy!"
The god struck her down and leveled his eyes on her mother.
"I warned you."

"I've never had much faith in anything," he said, taking her hand in his. "Except her. She believes in you--in the gods. So, I'm praying to you. I'm begging you. Save her. Please," he sobbed. "Don't take her from me."
From my WIP, The Dawn of Magic.

D5: depends on the story. Some of my characters are both. In my mermaid tale, I enjoy writing the protag, Kalen. Bullied, he's determined to prove himself and wants the girl of his dreams to believe in him.
Spoiler: she already does. ππ
