Why?
In the short spark of a moment that the chemicals and matter have come to create the illusion of "you" before it breaks back down and the illusion ends, why would "you"-- whatever "you" actually is-- care enough to study the Bible or argue about whether or not there is a mind behind the universe?
Why would one extremely temporary bag of chemicals care what any other extremely temporary bag of chemicals does? It's meaningless gibberish created by matter temporarily structured in just a certain way and then it's over... so, who cares?
If I truly believed it was all just random matter and chemicals forming to create an illusion of "self" I certainly wouldn't waste the little time this illusion lasted to argue about a completely meaningless topic. It's all meaningless so who cares? Yet certain bags of chemicals that have the illusion of self simply froth at the mouths anytime the idea of a mind behind the universe comes up. Why?
It's really just the "I don't need a good answer, I just need AN answer" trope. Dr. Meyer did an excellent job in this discussion.
The way the twist their minds into pretzels to get around the common sensical and the obvious is truly amazing.
You see this also when they debate people such as William Lane Craig on the idea of a past infinite built on successive events being impossible in a real world scenario.
An infinite past seems to be the modern trend for getting out of the implications that a finite universe naturally brings to the table.
@adamcarolla I'd like to think it was just a matter of incompetence, stupidity or insanity-- just 10 years or so ago, I probably would have thought that--but, I don't believe any of these are the reasons anymore. It's deliberate, it's organized, and it's certainly not unique to California.
@ThrillaRilla369 I'd say all of those things are signs of "intelligence"; it's more a question of moral character than intelligence. No morally good species would do those things...
a lot of people who think they’re smart (but in reality just naive) are asking me who “they” are.
well, “they” are the market makers, algos and other institutional big money who manipulate crypto prices to shake out retail.
then they buy back lower.
if you don’t believe crypto prices are manipulated, you are living in fantasy world.
1k retweets and i’ll make a post highlighting exactly how they do this.
Microsoft would be another; Bezos seems to be using his wealth to live like a "baller" while there are some serious concerns about what the hell Bill Gates is up to. Again, this isn't an all encompassing "law of the rich". Bezos seems to be an average dude who created a multi-billion dollar company: good on him. It's probably the reason he hasn't turned into some sort of crazed bond villian.. yet (joke). However, if you want to go down a large rabbit hole, look into Bill Gates' background.
One problem is simply, who the hell knows what the truth is anymore and who has the time to really chase these things down? In other words, who do we believe?
You can't just stick your head in the ground anymore either. So, here we are on X trying to have a normal life while still keeping one eye on the craziness going on.
Which is why I am not adamant about all of this; I understand that my time, intelligence, and information is limited.
Again, I would agree with you to a point. I'm speaking in generalities here and generally speaking, the super rich "elite" are the ones pulling the strings as it were. Perhaps better put: they have the means and connections to "pull the strings" if they so choose. Not all choose to do so but, undoubtedly, the temptation to do so is there and many choose to take that opportunity. (I'm not anti-rich by any means; the more honest billionaires we have in the USA the better as far as I'm concerned.)
As far as the banks and government are concerned, where do the banks and government meet? The pharmaceutical industry, the Military Industrial Complex, for that matter companies such as google and facebook. (We know they were working with the government during the covied "pandemic".) Lobbying is a huge issue in Washington because it isn't just a government problem. The problem in a few words is, corruption at the highest levels and the corruption through influence and money from outside the government is all too real IN the government.
In the last 10 years I've gone from being mildly suspicious of government and the "Elite", not really caring enough to look into it, to being pretty much convinced that there absolutely are conspiracies out there and there is a certain set of very rich and influential people who are actively setting plans into motion to bring about a certain "Order" in the world. Again, 10 years ago, I would have rolled my eyes at that, now, well, I'm writing this... I think the whole Covid fiasco was what really "red-pilled" me. "They" really overplayed their hand on that one and it was obvious to anyone willing to take an honest look at what was going on.
(When they started bribing people to take a vaccine, my BS detector started going ballistic. When they were reporting hospitals overflowing with the dead and dying yet, when normal people showed up to investigate the place was like a church parking lot on a Monday morning, it didn't take a genius to figure out something really weird and out of the ordinary was happening. It just went on from there: the leaders meeting to party while telling us to stay inside, beaches cleared, old folks' homes filled with the infected, doctors being paid for "covid" being the cause of death, alternative medicines being castigated, doctors being silenced, schools being closed when a normal healthy child was not at any real risk, idiotic mask laws... the list goes on.)
The following, if true; which at this point wouldn't surprise me in the least, would be a prime example of what I'm getting at:

@Marylou2L@ThrillaRilla369 He wrote that song before he got rich, wonder what he thinks of it now when he sings it. Your guess is as good as mine but, with exceptions, I'd say he was on to something with those lyrics.
I seriously doubt Trump cares enough about this to do the necessary pushing to get access to these documents and files.
Our best hope is to pump his ego to the point where he will want to be the "Disclosure" president. Then maybe we'll see some real movement.
I'm hoping Steven Spielberg's upcoming movie will be so popular that Trump will want to ride the wave and be the one to bring disclosure to the world. We'll see I guess.
The banks who got bailed out? The politicians caught red handed, the pharmaceutical industry, the Military Industrial Complex, whoever is destroying the middle class in Europe, and trying to do so in America?
10 years or so ago I would have agreed with you-- and you're probably right about a lot of companies, but after the last decade or so, the "insanity" (although I don't think whoever is pulling the strings are actually stupid or insane) has gotten to the point where I'm convinced we're living the plot of a bad dystopian movie where the "elites" are deliberately destroying the middle class, wiping out their savings and their ability to BE the middle-class leaving them in debt and functionally enslaved, the purpose being to control the means of survival and dole it out to the obedient... sounds crazy but, there it is.
(You can't tell me the importing of millions of immigrants into the west wasn't deliberate and planned and it is currently wrecking the European middle class; God knows where we would be if Trump, with all of his flaws, hadn't gotten back in but even he is spending like there is no tomorrow and purchasing power of the dollar/ the savings of the middle class, has gone down the crapper. Those with hard assets have to weather the storm and hope they don't have to liquidate or they will soon be in the same boat as those saving cash.)
Okay, all that to say, on some level you are absolutely right but, on another I just don't think so anymore.
I agree with that to an extent. Politicians seem to be pretty much immune to their lies and corruption. Up until recently, the mainstream media, for the most part, had a free hand in whatever lies they wanted to push. The Military Industrial Complex we were warned about seems to be doing all right, the pharmaceutical industry is booming, the banks get bailed out and keep on going...
In the world/level we live in, though, I would generally agree with your assessment. A business would quickly go under if it's reputation gets tarnished by lies and corruption. Seems to change as you go higher up though.
I'd say it was both. Power corrupts and it also attracts corrupt people.
I think it's a safe bet to say that most politicians start out with the best of intentions... 30 years and a few hundred million dollars later... do I have to name them? Both sides are guilty of it. Ask Mr. Burchett what he thinks of Washington.
And If America is that bad, you can guarantee the rest of the world is that bad or worse, much worse.
Bledsoe seems to be dodging and exploiting the situation with UFOs.
That was the point of the original post as I understood it. He has a chance at being open and transparent about "calling" these things and it looks more like manipulation than transparency, assuming the post was correct: no reason to doubt Joe at this point.
My overall point is that even with UAPs the water is so muddied by so much in-fighting, egos, accusations, etc that it gets to the point where you are sick of it just like everything else. It would be great if we could all pull together on this one, leave the egos at the door, and work for the common truth. Doesn't seem to be happening.
