When you ask help too late, you have already gotten too frustrated and that makes it harder for you to be in the right mind space to learn more. Also you have likely lost too much time that results in higher opportunity cost.

When should you ask for help? A simple rubric is do an activity for 15 minutes and then ask for help. This is enough time to have tried hard on a problem and felt the pain that when you receive the solution, you can appreciate what you did not know and what gap it filled.

When you ask help too soon, you don’t have the same amount of learning and you don’t appreciate the solution the same away.

4. We are stuck on tools that help speed up acquisition of data.

1. The entire data infrastructure industry was built for primarily two outcomes - building predictive systems (AI/ML) and decisions (Analytics). We are far from building great systems for making decisions. The primary reason is that we have not evolved to automating insights.

3. We need to go from Data --> Insights --> Actionable Insights --> Decisions.
