@Kyle_Ireton @cjlawrimore my company has unlimited PTO, but the culture around using it is very good so it works! Upper management is VERY proactive in encouraging us to use it, and people do, which helps! I think it’d be way harder if no one around me took time off…
🚨awesome opportunity alert!🚨
I had a WONDERFUL time as a tech in Ana’s lab! Great mentoring, lots of opportunities to learn, publish, and present.
If anyone wants to chat about this, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Weil Lab is hiring a technician to use intestinal enteroids to model Vibrio cholerae infection! If you like global health, enteric disease, and the microbiome, and have 1-2 years of experience (cell culture and molecular biology), please get in touch! https://t.co/OotHj9rbA5
Patricia M. Silva, @cdunmire, and Young Innovator Award winner Denise Chac are presenting their research on the connection between the gut’s microbiome and people contracting cholera.
Come over to Exhibit Hall 4A to learn more! 3/3
@Napaaqtuk @AnonDumboOctopi To add to this; I personally prefer Asana over Monday! Just based on ease of use and navigating the app! But they are very similar and I like those two best, more than other systems I’ve used in the past
@quendi@punk_scientist I really didn’t like Trello, but I’ve loved Monday and Asana!
They all have the same sort of idea, but Asana is my favorite in that it is easy to use/learn but complex enough for lots of different projects/tasks. Monday is nice too, but not as well set up as Asana imo
https://t.co/dmSMo4tYXK I attempted to isolate V. cholerae from a lot of vomit and stool (that had also been stored frozen at -80C!).
We were surprised by which methods worked best, so we decided to share with the broader scientific community. Here’s what we learned:
@nimivashi15 @Dan_biotech @Kyle_Ireton To build on that, his advice was also super helpful even at my level (BS in biology looking for industry positions after some time as a tech in academia)
small change to the Twitter bio, big change in life!
I’ve just finished my first week as an RA in biotech, after spending two years as a tech in academia.
hope to tweet more about the transition soon!
