The pair diverted their attention to the inexplicable figure to their right, where the shadow had previously appeared.

"Hey Joanne, this is the first time I’ve seen that. Has it always been there?”

But Bindy's attention was elsewhere.

Joanne breathed a sigh of relief. “That was close, lucky we lost the shadow. Speaking of the shadow, what was it anyway?”

The sun had gone down.

The pair discovered that the shadow had stopped following them, so they walked back to Joanne’s place.
