Took a couple of days to process but can't stop thinking about the great Rick Newman, owner of Catch a Rising Star, who passed away this week. Newman's true talent was believing so much in your talent that you had no choice to believe it yourself. We'll miss you, buddy.
Another sad goodbye. To Rick Newman. If it weren't for him I might be teaching theater. He ran Catch a Rising Star a great comedy club and I was lucky he asked me to play there and my real education in comedy began. He sits on my Mt. Rushmore of those who turned me into a comic.
My good friend Rick Newman has passed. He was the founder of Catch A Rising Star and help launch the careers of so many talented people. He was also a very good guy. Rest in peace, Rick.
