Very honored to be writing the new America at 250 newsletter for @TheFP. Subscribe and learn what happened this week in history and why it matters. Check out today’s about the 300th birthday of a “forgotten” founder. @bariweiss https://t.co/RRHkbkDBg0
Grateful to @NPRinskeep and @MorningEdition for a Memorial Day story on my new book, The Fate of the Generals, about General Wainwright, the highest-ranking American POW of World War II. @ScribnerBooks https://t.co/cGhK4HH4HX
Delighted to see this terrific review of my new book in @WSJ. "Recounting battle scenes with riveting prose ... 'The Fate of the Generals' lifts Jonathan Wainwright out of the shadow of Douglas MacArthur and 'back into the light.'" @WSJBooks@ScribnerBooks https://t.co/8m2VquNbNP
A new book tells the story of Gen. Douglas MacArthur and Gen. Jonathan Wainwright, who was the highest-ranking American POW of World War II.
David Martin sat down with the author of "The Fate of the Generals" @JonathanDHorn.
Looking forward to discussing my new book, "The Fate of the Generals: MacArthur, Wainwright, and the Epic Battle for the Philippines" at @WWIIMemorial conference on Saturday with @kershaw_alex and also to hearing from @eisenhowergroup. https://t.co/0t3tPWXBdI
On publication day for my new book, The Fate of the Generals, here's my interview last week with @DanaPerino about the courage of General Wainwright, who vowed to stay with his men, even when it meant becoming WWII's highest-ranking American POW. @FoxNews https://t.co/ZzYa9ajRdf
Publication day for "The Fate of the Generals." So grateful for the help I received in the Philippines, archives in the U.S, & @ScribnerBooks. Too many names to thank in a tweet (see the acknowledgments!), but one stands above all: my wife, @CNHorn. https://t.co/tGzONhda08
Happy book publishing day @JonathanDHorn !

I've been sharing office space with this guy for more than a year. Glad he can finally read "The Fate of the Generals." Out tomorrow from @ScribnerBooks https://t.co/fiwPe1wMpz
It was an honor to be interviewed by @DanaPerino about my new book, The Fate of the Generals, for National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day. The story of a forgotten World War II hero, General Jonathan Wainwright. @FoxNews@ScribnerBooks https://t.co/ZzYa9ajjnH
It's the story of the vow Douglas MacArthur made to return to the Philippines after escaping the islands and of the oath his fellow general, Jonathan Mayhew Wainwright, made to stay with his men there even when it meant becoming the highest-ranking American POW of WWII
Proud to announce I have a new book coming out on April 15, 2025. THE FATE OF THE GENERALS: MacArthur, Wainwright, and the Epic Battle for the Philippines. Pre-order now, and give yourself a reason to look forward to Tax Day next year. @ScribnerBooks https://t.co/tGzONhda08
We lost an excellent journalist and even better colleague and friend today. Bill Plante worked at @CBSNews for 52 years, covering Vietnam, the civil rights movement and the White House for 35 years. It was an honor to know, work and drink wine with Bill. He was a good man. RIP.
As a young reporter at the NewsHour, I would greet Mark and sit and chat with him and my colleagues in the green room every Friday night. It was the highlight of my week. He was a kind, generous, big-hearted man.
I believe the best measure of a human is how they treat those who aren’t big and important as they are. Mark greeted interns and desk assistants w/ the same level of respect and interest as he did senators and presidents. He was, at his core, a good man. He will be missed.
