@WedgewoodPolls Sadly, there have never been more junk polls circulating, with lazy/gullible reporters circulating and others same incorporating into averages. The problem is less pollsters and more of sloppy journalism and non-discriminating aggregation.

My column for this past week on increasing dire situation for Republicans headed into midterm, seems most strongly felt in Alaska, Iowa, North Carolina and Texas, double barrel races in each, for Senae and Governor. https://t.co/LKquscsRvi
Here is my morning after Michigan piece that is up on my Substack, Charlie Cook Politics. To be clear, I am not saying that Dems can’t pick up some Senate seats, but with unforced errors, they need to almost run the table to win a majority. Separately I am posting a link to a piece from last night that has a very interesting attachment that serious political aficionados might find of interest. https://t.co/bZDdjxs39o
My latest column from Monday’s National Journal and Cook Political Report is now up on my Charlie Cook Politics Substack, enjoy (free). Latest news from Wisconsin reinforces the left-risk for Democrats, how much will it offset Trump’s problems for GOP? https://t.co/07iYPV1B53
I wish people would learn how to read charts before making comments. Comparing Lean Dem numbers to Lean Rep numbers while ignoring the breakdown of Toss Ups is a silly thing to do. I no longer own the CPR but I devise the rating system. https://t.co/mOKYaZHqCM
Besides Ohio, look at this new Texas poll. When a Republican President, and a Republican Vice President, a GOP Texas Governor and both Republican Senators are all underwater in favorability in an independent poll, something is going on. https://t.co/4mOzTb5R9k
Midterm elections are almost always bad for a President’s party. But how bad? Is a just-released Fox News poll in Ohio a dead canary in the coal mine? A state that Trump won by eight pts twice (2016 & 2020) and 11 points in 2024 should not look like this https://t.co/NLMDRhCMHG
