Miriam O'Callaghan stating the Irish language is weaponised in the North was a dreadful moment.
Totally untrue and playing into the hands of bigots who are dragging the North back.
Clár Ceannródaíoch na Scoláireachtaí Gaeilge á chur ar fáil arís d’Imreoirí Idirchontae ag @gaelchultur, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael agus @gaelicplayers. Gach eolas thíos! ⬇️#GAAgaeilge
Táimse ag tabhairt mo vóta do Catherine Connolly toisc go bhfuil sé léirithe aici arís is arís eile go dtacaíonn sí le cúramóirí, le muintir an tuaiscirt, le pobal na Gaeilge agus le cearta daonna idirnáisiúnta.
Is í m'Uachtarán í.
Ní hamháin go léiríonn seo an meon mídhaonnachtúil atá i gcroílár shochaí Iosrael, meabhraíonn sé dúinn go bhfuil fabht comhchoiteann ionainn mar chine dhaonna a ligeann dó seo tarlú. Tá freagra polaitiúil de dhíth cinnte, ach tá obair inmheánach anama chomh tábhachtach céanna.

Lá suntasach atá ann inniu – Today is a momentous day.
I am delighted to announce that the Executive Office has made the historic decision to appoint both the Irish Language Commissioner and Ulster Scots Commissioner.
The ongoing revival of the Irish language is an exciting moment and presents significant opportunities for our society.
The Irish language commissioner will play a central role in promoting Gaeilge within public services and everyday life.
Gaeilge is flourishing at the heart of all communities right across the North, within schools and community facilities, enriching people’s lives.
I will continue to work to build a society that delivers on the rights of all our citizens.
🔥Unprecedented & simply magnificent. That time in Nov 2024 when a haka led by Aotearoa’s youngest MP 22yo Hana-Rawhiti Kareariki Maipi-Clarke erupted in the House stopping the Treaty Principles Bill from passing its first reading, triggering the Speaker to suspend Parliament.

Like the Palestinians, the Lebanese know that you are lying. Like the Palestininas, the Lebanese know that Israel's leadership is as unscrupulous as eager to expand its genocidal violence to the region in order to maintain power and advance its settler-colonial agenda. Like the Palestinians, the Lebanese know that most of the Israeli society may simply be too hurt, traumatised or indoctrinated to see any alternatives beyond living in a perpetual state of war. Like the Palestinians, the Lebanese may be wondering why you are not in the #Hague yet.
In 1949 it became illegal to erect Irish language on street signage.
In 1995 that ban was replaced with an obligation for councils to take forward their own rules & policies to facilitate requests from residents.
In 2024 ABC Council passed their first Irish/English sign.
