DYK: Edgar Renteria is one of only four players in history with the game-winning RBI in two different World Series clinchers. The other three are Hall of Famers Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, and Yogi Berra.

The Colombian star hit a walk-off single in Game 7 of the 1997 World Series for the Marlins and slugged a go-ahead 3-run homer in Game 5 of the 2010 World Series for the Giants. He was named MVP of the 2010 Fall Classic. #HHM

Of all the baseball feats I’ve witnessed in my lifetime, the most amazing by far is Tony Gwynn hitting .338 over 20 years. Never worse than .309 from 1983 through 2001. His entire career was a hot streak. And he was a great human being. Absolute legend.

#Padres Tony Gwynn never batted .400 in a season, but he maintained a .403 batting average over a 179 game span from July 3, 1993 to May 9, 1995. He struck out just 26 times to a whopping 281 hits during that stretch.
