@MissWhite___ YES! I was just thinking about that earlier this week. Makes me question my longevity in the profession.

@wokeSTEMteacher I do choreography for middle and high school dance teams (and cheer if they call me)

I’m at a loss. Kindergarten this year is wearing me out. The phrase “herding cats” is an understatement. They are fighting (yes, with their hands), unable to follow simple directions, and every class is survival.

Anyone else in this boat? What’s working well for you?

[coach allison @coach_allison_]

@Mr_Daniel_Price For K this year, we have to something REALLY simple, so we play the “animal game” as they call it. I start them off doing locomotors. I stop them, and hold up the microphone to a kid, they say an animal and they choose how they move. They’re so creative!!

Watching #ICanSeeYourVoice and IMMEDIATELY called the PE teacher to be the bad singer. Turns out I was correct.

What PE teacher still has a decent voice? Not me!

Student joke of the day:

S: why did the chicken nugget cross the road?
Me: I don’t know, why?
S: because he had to poop!

Anyone else have Ss who absolutely LOVE trying their joke out on you? 😂

@Ms_Ermis Not all the time! I get too hot and I don’t like the feel of layers

Does anyone use whole brain teaching in their PE classroom?

What books would you recommend for the absolute beginner?

[coach allison @coach_allison_]

We’ve all had them. Those K classes where you can’t even teach them a simple activity bc you keep getting interrupted and talked over. Half the class needs to potty and the other half doesn’t care what the lesson is. What are your back up plans for those days?

[coach allison @coach_allison_]

@PEwithKendra I have not simply because I haven’t been sure how to get those since it’s only my third year

[coach allison @coach_allison_]

@pe4everykid Looks like it’s more often than mine 😆

I only have one more practice with my very first dance team before our Veterans Day performance on Wednesday. I didn’t expect to be this emotional, especially with a team full of dancers who have never danced before. 🥺

Since I am a teacher in our STREAM club, I ended up with 3 big boxes of legos. Once STREAM ends, I get to keep them for my classroom.

How do I use legos in PE???? The only thing I can think of is cardio card hunt, but Lego pieces instead of cards. Im stumped.

Don’t get me wrong, I love having my own little 5th gr. dance team for our Veteran’s day program. So thankful for the collaboration with our music teacher

However, I’ve had You’re A Grand, Old Flag playing nonstop in my head since Monday. I dont know if I can make it much longer

[coach allison @coach_allison_]

Red light, Green light is such a big hit for the kids. I HAD to make a part two with music they would have some fun with

Feel free to use it as your warm up!
