Again: If you believe that coaches are infinitely more valuable, then you should believe they both sides deserve access to the free market.
“Different markets” is a tell that you think one party’s wages should be suppressed and one should not.
This dinosaur doesn’t give two shits about the kids or game. He wants the old system where players are cattle and schools like Alabama can pay players when nobody else is and run the sport. Those days are over. These kids bring way too much money to these schools to not be paid.
Nick Saban tiptoes around the issue of capping player pay while not capping coaching pay by suggesting that they're two different markets. But so what? Why restrict either of them? https://t.co/zIKHUwcAAH

TY @BuffaloBills! This is a program recognition. Great admin, the best Booster Club, incredibly talented staff, many talented players & many supportive families! This is for all of us! #ROAD26#OPNE
He’s right of course. Player pay and coaching pay ARE totally different markets.
That’s why in every pro sports league, the best players are paid significantly more than the best coaches. They’re way more valuable.
This is why college football players need a union to collectively bargain for their rights. Coaches like Saban will and always have supported keeping them at the mercy of other others and without any rights.
This guy made $150 million off the back of unpaid labor and now spends his time lobbying against players getting paid what they’re worth. Cannot imagine being that morally bankrupt.
The Protect College Sports Act would deny college athletes the rights they are owed as workers and cut off any path they have to advocate for themselves, all so the NCAA and conferences can consolidate money and power. The Senate must reject this bill.

NAACP CEO Derrick Johnson speaking on SportsCenter against the Protect College Sports Act.
"Who says there's instability? Coaches have been doing this for decades now. Players didn't have the same rights. Now they do and people say it's unstable."
The status quo in college sports isn't working -- but screwing over athletes with the union-busting Protect College Sports Act for the NCAA, SEC and Big Ten isn't the answer.
Go back to the negotiating table.
The Protect College Sports Act would have major implications for college athletes.

Don’t support this abomination of a bill. Congress, in conjunction with the networks, want to make college athletics the next professional sport but without the union negotiating power for the players (the ones who do all of the work)
News: The AFL-CIO, College Football Players Association, NAACP and other groups sent a letter to Senate leadership this morning emphasizing their opposition to the Protect College Sports Act.
The groups urged Senate to delay a vote. Some Senate Dems are expected to support the PCSA. We'll see if the continued opposition from labor, etc makes a difference
