MAD about football....or soccer, if you prefer. Views not necessarily my own - they're influenced by all of my life's experiences and personal interactions.
Here are a few quotes and reflection questions from my book. The Coaching Journey.

I've coached a long time, but it took me a long time to realise this.
Players who understand WHY execute better than those who just copy.
Don't just show the movement.
Explain the mechanics.
Connect it to game situations.
Make it relevant to their position.

This is one of my favourite sessions.
It can be used with any age or ability groups, as long as we know how to adapt and modify the size, challenges and expectations to suit.
One that I shared with @TheS_Resource this week.
Coaches
Are we creating the best environment possible, enabling the children we work with the best opportunity to develop?
Do we focus on individual needs?
Do we nurture?
Do we support?
Do we promote growth?
Are we patient?

@insidewrite1957@power_ray And you're right 12/13 is a long time ago now. I wrote to The FA (twice) with suggested rule changes to accommodate development football including playing for any team within an age group in your club (such as signing U8s for only one of "Aardvarks" or "Zebras" instead of both)
@insidewrite1957@power_ray I recall that the FA Youth Development Review in 2012/13 planned to split the selection period from Jan to Dec and Sept to Aug between schools and club football to even out the Relative Age Effect / Birth Bias across the year but consultation stymied that very good idea
@insidewrite1957@power_ray You need to allow flexibility to play "down" a year in GR football same as Academy football.
With no league tables to U13 there is no barrier to allowing that flexibility except SCORY (in England) that wasn't changed to accommodate "development" football concept
@CCD_Essex@SundayShare10 Can use double / 2 sets of gates a few yards apart to encourage young ones to maintain some distance between the passer and receiver
Gate Game in a Circle:
Including some simple ideas linking to the 4 Corner Holistic model.

🔵 Social
Obviously there are plenty of additional ideas you can add yourselves.
End in game and score through gates?
@SundayShare10
Some information from the UEFA C to give additional context to your sessions.
You may or may not consider these at the moment.
Hopefully, it will be of help for some coaches.
Let me know your thoughts.
@power_ray 's material and profile are well worth a follow for all coaches.
I even made a contribution to the Making The Ball Roll book a few years back ☺️
@Teamgrassroots_ If your home pitch is surrounded by brambles like this, I recommend getting a scythe to reach the lost football without injury. The brambles soon grow back again.
