🚨Class 5A all-state boys basketball 🔥
Congrats to DuBois’ 6’8” senior guard, Maddox Bennett, for being named PA Sports Writers 5A All-State (3rd Team) .
Got to see 2026 @UConnBSB signee @NoahFarrell_9 from @DASDBeavers last night.
The 6'4" 205 RHP was 91-93 most of the game, still sitting 90-91 in the 5th. His 2-seamer would ride in on RHH's forcing weak contact, and as the game went on, he threw more 4-seamers at the top of the zone, getting plenty of swings & misses on the FB up.
His BB ranged from 74-79 w/ 11-6 shape and decent depth. While he was trying to feel for it early in the game at the lower end of that velocity range, he started letting it rip later, more in the 77-79 range. When he threw it with conviction and FB arm speed, it was sharper and induced more swing and miss.
He commanded the fastball well, above average command for a 2026. When he fell behind guys it was usually with the BB. 5.1 IP last night, 1 H, 3 BB, 9 K. For the season, 21.1 IP, 11 BB, 39 K.
Side angle in the next tweet of this thread. There you'll see an example of trying to feel for the BB as you can see him slow down on his offspeed.
Quality arm, interesting prospect for #mlbdraft, and good follow at UCONN!
Congrats to DuBois senior, Maddox Bennett, on being selected as part of Tremendous 25 in Mr. PA Basketball voting. Please vote in link below for Maddox to move forward to the Terrific 10. Fan voting is 1/3 of the consideration.
