#utahfootballwire One team in Utah deserves a little more attention: Layton Christian Academy. 🦅

LCA competes as an independent football program, which means the Eagles typically aren’t featured in our classification-based rankings and stat leaderboards. But make no mistake, there’s something special happening in Layton.

The Eagles are undefeated this season, with a statement road win over Snow Canyon already on their résumé. This Friday, they’ll travel to Pleasant Grove for another opportunity to show what they’re capable of against a larger program. 💪

And LCA has some serious playmakers.

🏈 Synic Harvey has recorded 5 interceptions this season, tying him for the state lead in interceptions across all 11-man football programs.

🏈 Chris Munroe has rushed for 9 touchdowns, putting him right in the mix with the state’s leading rushers.

But perhaps the most impressive number? Through five games played, LCA has outscored its opponents 222–28. 😳

That defensive performance deserves some serious recognition. The Eagles have allowed an average of just 5.6 points per game while holding two opponents scoreless.

Independent or not, LCA is putting together a season worth paying attention to.

Hats off to the Eagles! We’ll be keeping a close eye on Friday’s matchup against Pleasant Grove and the rest of their season. 👏

Everyone will soon know if they don’t already know who this young man is. Needs to be on recruiting boards everywhere. Great athlete, great student, even better young man. Honored and humbled to be able to coach him and witness his journey.
