I keep seeing folks say the one thing Matt Campbell MUST do is win all the games he is suppose to win because Franklin always did that. But that thought is based in a false reality and I don’t know why it keeps getting repeated
In the 2020s Franklin’s teams went 7-6 two different times and also went 4-5. Now, he absolutely deserves credit for back to back to back 10+ win seasons in the 2020s (a very impressive feat that not many have accomplished). But the idea he never lost games he wasn’t suppose to, is just factually incorrect
@JoshPateCFB@BussinWTB@_willcompton@TaylorLewan77@FDSportsbook@FanDuel priority #1 should be fix the schedule — move to Week 0, open the season with bowl week— everyone should be playing championship weekend so teams that get an at-large dont get an unfair bye— no off weeks in the playoffs. championship game should be nye or nyday
@hokieburner49@On3Richie MC has shown he can develop guys & win games as underdog at a school that historically didnt. Brings those abilities to PSU & we’ll be just fine.
@wmonk00@On3Richie i wasnt comparing Cig & MC — i was making the point that a good coaches can take 3⭐️ talent & win whereas JF had better recruiting classes but couldn’t win the big games — Cig is a phenomenal coach
@wmonk00@On3Richie plus i wasnt comparing Cig & MC — i was making the point that a good coaches can take 3⭐️ talent & win whereas JF had better recruiting classes but couldn’t win the big games — Cig is a phenomenal coach
@GrantNoelsGhost@On3Richie winning 8+ games at ISU with 3 stars as your highest recruits means you developed mostly no namers
do yourself a favorite & go look what ISU did for 10 years before MC showed up
MC universally respected as “does more with less” type coach
@GrantNoelsGhost@On3Richie development & coaching > recruiting class based on recruiting stars
Franklin had awesome recruiting classes but the development & in game coaching wasnt there.
Campbell might take a slight dip in recruiting but thats made up in development & coaching. lil guy
@PennStRealist@On3Richie@psuprospects yeah the NFL was so happy with his development that the Steelers are re-teaching him everything from scratch… plus making it to the NFL & succeeding in the NFL are too totally different things.
@On3Richie@WhiteOutFB@psuprospects correct prices keep going up.. but if you overpay a recruit, you either locked into over paying the following years or that player leaves.
pay the right price, develop, build real quality relationships & you get 3-4 years of a player. depends what you value
@psuprospects@On3Richie correct!!
once they put a product on the field.. it’ll also help their recruiting.. most PA/ northeast players werent watching ISU on their saturday afternoons lol
i believe in this PSU staff — continuity is gonna be huge too. new OCs YoY under JF hurt IMO
