This was the text that @IowaHawkeyeGolf coach Tyler Stith sent to Noah Kent before match play.

When Noah was a freshman, he asked to play a fifth-year senior who was twice a Big Ten champ, Mac McClear, in a fall intrasquad event. He beat him in both matches.

Throw in a couple visits to Harvester and Davenport, which are both within about an hour and a half drive. It’s pretty good.

Don’t get me wrong..I hate cold and will be the first winter in the south as I get older but…..

It’s pretty bizarre to think that I can be a member of these two clubs in Iowa for about the same cost of the one week of golf my son and I played Arizona and California over Spring Break.

Mostly show and go, no tees times and the courses themselves are arguably as good or better than all the courses we played in the SW.

Yes but the weather…
We play “comfortably” 8 months out of the year with an average high in those months of 60 degrees.
(45F - 82F avg high range)

Doesn’t seem so bad?
