โฆjust as crucial for coaches as it is for players:
๐ Observing the field to identify spaces
๐งฉ Searching for patterns to exploit
๐ฎ Anticipating future opportunities
โ Making decisions to change the game rhythm
โฐ When you look for cues is also important
@CECoaching_ Showing vulnerability to your athletes. โI didnโt see thatโ. โI made a mistakeโ. โIโm struggling to decide, what do you think?โ
โWe are practitioners trying our best to interpret the research, but what happens in reality when we coach, is a lot of nuance and instinct. Sometimes our bias or ingrained habits can take over and hamper our ability to coach effectively and observe.โ - @coachcookson

โก๏ธThanks to @VanjaCernivec for reintroducing me last weekend to some Fighting Monkey concepts! I like the concept behind FM (founders have a dance/ martial arts/ gymnastic background). Iโve added my own ideas to more closely align it with what we do from ๐ standpoint.
โI never really practiced the step backโ ๐คฏ. Great moment from @OldManAndThree@jj_redick. Interesting to hear @luka7doncic talking about self discovery of the step back. Is this a good example of skills emerging from the constraints of the game? ๐ง https://t.co/MsNakjpcN2

"A Case Study of Excellence in Elite Sport" - Ken Hodge, Graham Henry, & Wayne Smith. Worth a read.

Even when doing low intensity pre competition โrehearsalโ practice the worlds best know that throwing in some variability is valuable to get them dialled in!
Then then offense shoots a 3 from the corner. Make both the rim finish and the corner 3 to receive 1pt. First player to 7.
Let me now how you incorporate transitions into your player development workouts in the comments below. More content coming soon!
In order to make our player development workouts transfer to our game performance we must create situations that have similarities to the ones that our players face in the game (representative).
In this activity we are simulating picking up the ball handler in the full court, creating the steal and immediately finishing at the rim.
We also include the extra player as a guided defended to create a decision for the offense (finish around, over or counter).
.@coachcookson doing a great job at @WBBasket in Sweden. Building a modern style of play across the whole youth sector backed by evidence-informed coaching practices.
