I’ve watched a ton of first session games across Nike EYBL, Adidas 3SSB, and Under Armour UAA. Here’s my honest takeaway:

Nike EYBL has the most talented and most skilled players, no debate. But there’s also a lot of low IQ basketball at times. Felt like I was watching the Houston Rockets every game. A lot of talent, a lot of chaos.

Adidas 3SSB has the best pure basketball product. High IQ plays, strong structure, and real offense being run. It looks the most like college basketball.

Under Armour UAA feels like a mix of both, but those kids play the hardest. There’s a real earned-not-given edge to that circuit. Tough, hungry players that compete like they’ve been overlooked their whole lives.

Nike has pros. (They also have the best shoes)

Adidas has the best watch for a basketball junkie.

UAA has that chip-on-the-shoulder feel.

It’s unreal how many players in basketball want to be something they’re not. The 5s want to be 4s while non shooters think they can shoot. It’s literally insane! The guys that have a long career are the ones who figure out who they are early & try to be the best at that.

I will go a step further with my tweet from a few days ago…thank you everyone for the responses, I can see I’m not alone in my thinking. If you don’t want mid-ranges, you better have an offense and players that can get you threes and layups ! If not, score how you can score !
