Simpson College (D3) RB Demarico Young has entered the transfer portal.
He led the ARC in rushing with 1,019 yards last season.
Demarco is deaf, and was told he couldn’t use his sign interpreter on campus anymore 🚨
They left home as boys 8 decades ago to go out and save the world. Last night they sat at the WWII Memorial together and celebrated their country's 250th. Still heroic.
Attn PE Teachers 🚨
Try this -
On the last week of school send 4 kids every 5 minutes to their favorite English or Math teacher and have them say "Can I hang out here, my PE teacher said it was ok since we're not doing anything".
Good times 🤣🤣
The average high school head football coach stipend is around $7,000. Fluctuating heavily
For that, they’re expected to coach year-round, run a program, mentor kids, manage parents, recruit their own halls, fundraise, break down film, coordinate staffs, and be available almost 24/7.
Football coaches are grossly underpaid for what we ask of them.
🚨 High School Football Recruits and Parents
Not every camp is the RIGHT camp.
One of the biggest mistakes recruits make during the summer is attending camps simply because they are popular, heavily advertised, or loaded with big name programs.
Be strategic.
Do your homework before signing up for any camp.
Ask yourself:
✅ Does this school realistically fit me academically and athletically?
✅ Have the coaches shown real interest?
✅ Will I actually get quality reps?
✅ Is this camp built for evaluation or exposure?
✅ Does this camp fit my position and recruiting goals?
Mega camps can absolutely provide exposure and opportunities, but recruits also need to understand the reality:
➡️ Hundreds of athletes attend
➡️ Reps can be very limited
➡️ Coaches may only see you for a few snaps
➡️ Standing out becomes much harder without preparation
Sometimes a smaller position specific camp or an individual school camp can provide more meaningful coaching, better interaction, and more direct evaluation opportunities.
Remember this:
Exposure without preparation means nothing.
College coaches are evaluating far more than talent:
🏈 Body language
🏈 Effort
🏈 Coachability
🏈 Competitiveness
🏈 Communication
🏈 How you respond to adversity
Be intentional with your summer plan.
The goal is not to attend the MOST camps.
The goal is to attend the RIGHT camps.
Right Camps.
Right Reasons.
Right Opportunity.
Make this summer count
If you’re a young person who’s frustrated by someone (coach, teacher, parent) pushing you or holding you accountable, read this and pause to really think about it.
Some guy at the gym every morning 6am.
He takes the 45lb plates, all of them.
He loads one bar and he does one rep and sits for 20 minutes.
Then unloads and he leaves, he does this everyday.
We hated him, and nicknamed him the plate dragon.
People started coming in at 5:45 to beat him. He'd just wait smiling and he would take them at 6.
One rep, sit then leaves.
I finally asked him Bro what are you doing?
We have used the entire school year to teach our pre athletics kids how to use a weight room. Etiquette, polices, procedures, proper technique, etc. It has taken us all year to teach the clean. Here is how they look after multiple progressions and months of work!
Your Middle School athletes have the unique advantage of being smaller… which means you can raise their Relative Strength Ratio very quickly.
It also means if you start them early, you don’t have to play catch up strength wise later.
They are adaptation machines!
