Twas the night before kickoff, and all through the school,
The players were restless, the coaches stayed cool.
The playbooks were studied with meticulous care,
In hopes that sweet victory soon would be there.
The helmets were hung in the lockers with pride,
While visions of touchdowns danced in their stride.
And Coach with his whistle, and I with my gear,
Had just settled in for the game day premiere.
When out on the field there arose such a clatter,
We sprang from the bleachers to see what was the matter.
Away to the practice turf, we flew like a flash,
Gripping our jerseys, ready to clash.
The moon on the dew of the freshly mown grass,
Lit up the end zone like a pane of stained glass.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a rival squad warming up far too near.
With a fiery coach so intense and astute,
I knew in a moment, this would be no fluke.
More rapid than blitzes, his players they came,
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name:
“Now, Quarterback! Now, Linemen! Now, Wide Receiver!
On, Safeties! On, Kickers! Let’s crush their believer!
To the fifty-yard line! To the goalposts, we’ll haul!
Now dash away! Smash away! Outplay them all!”
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So upfield they sprinted, their cleats making sound,
While our team huddled tight, their courage profound.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the turf,
The echo of cheers, a powerful surf.
As I drew in my breath and turned toward the goal,
Down the sideline came Coach, rallying his soul.
He was dressed in his headset, his clipboard in tow,
His demeanor intense, his passion aglow.
A clipboard of plays, he clutched in his fist,
And his eyes gleamed with fire that none could resist.
“Tomorrow we fight!” he exclaimed with a roar,
“This game is our moment, our chance to soar!
Leave nothing behind, not a doubt in your mind,
Let’s show them a team that’s one of a kind!”
The players, they nodded, their hearts filled with flame,
Their spirits united, their focus the same.
The school band played louder, the stands soon would roar,
And tomorrow they’d battle for pride and for more.
So I heard Coach exclaim as he turned out the light,
“Rest well, team, for tomorrow we fight!”

🚨HS FOOTBALL PLAYERS🚨
80 out of the 88 players on the 2-deep depth chart in the Sugar Bowl PLAYED MULTIPLE SPORTS IN HS! The best player in that game played 4 sports in HS!!
You want to play D1 ball? BE AN ATHLETE!!! 🏈🏃🏾♂️🏀⚾️⚽️🏐🏉🤼♂️
The most impressive thing I had seen in a very long time. Yelled at my wife when this play happened “but look at #4!” Wonder what at team would look like if everyone gave this kind of effort?

This is a powerful lesson by Tom Brady that can be used in everyday life…
Tom Brady spoke about early in his playing career when he would only get two snaps in practice when others would get 10-20..
He would complain about this to the coaches — but was told to make the most out of those two snaps… so he did.
He treated those two snaps “like it was Super Bowl 49” and eventually those 2 reps turned into 4, then into 8, etc.
He went from a 6th round pick getting 2 reps to a 7x Super Bowl Champion.
Make the most of your opportunities.
“Whenever you get an opportunity, take advantage, treat it like it's the Super Bowl, treat it like it's gameday, treat practice like no one else does!”
@TomBrady is the greatest player ever.
