I hear all the time about how great NOT taking TOs late game are, just let them play. How do you think the Celtics feel about their final possessions w/out a TO in games 1 & 2 ???
Mike Woodson after losing 4 straight, going down 19-2 last night: "This is on me"
Also Mike Woodson: "I thought PLAYER1 and PLAYER2 did an awful job in terms of guarding the bigs."
Coaches love to 'talk' about players responsibility, it just doesn't always apply to them... smh
Why are @espn announcers SO amazed with guys playing hard? They know it’s the playoffs right? They know it’s the NBA eastern conf semis, no? Playing hard isn’t incredible. Giving up your body isn’t earth shattering. It’s just the STARTING POINT to get you on the floor!
U need an accountant 2 keep track of the # of coaches who tell you 'we dont make excuses' & immediately follow that w/ all the reasons losing wasnt their fault. Its fascinating 2 see leaders hold players accountable 4 never having excuses yet IMMEDIATELY give theres after a loss
People LOVE to jump on the "see, no TO at the end of the game worked great" bandwagon. And when the hard push/no TO ends in unorganized disaster??? #Crickets
If a 2 for 1 with the ball & 48 seconds left at the end of the half is the right play, how come it’s the wrong play same situation at the end of the game? #trickQuestion#itsNot#TwoForOneLife
This is well deserved. Some teams cant win w a prac facility, 15k seat arena & special athlete dorms... BUT these guys won 21 gms last year watching film in a shower. Its not what you have, what you wear, where you play. Its what you do w your opportunity https://t.co/wPOk4z5tt0
7 DAYS, NO TECH FIX FOR YOUR GLITCH ON MY WEBSITE. HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN?? WHY DOES NO ONE AT YOUR COMPANY CARE?? WHY DOES NO ONE HELP ME?? HOW DO YOU RUN A BUSINESS LIKE THIS?? #AbsoluteWorst#NeverAgain@Wix
Explain to me again why billionaires need tax payers to pay for stadiums and arenas again? The Thunder are building a $900 million dollar stadium and have committed $50 mil to the cause? Has to be a typo, no? 50?
Hey @NFL new rule change. No TOs allowed final 5 seconds of the play clock. Most boring thing ever. It’s the only reason TOs are ever called these days. Take a penalty or run a bad play. Why can’t teams get a play in!?!?
You try, but you can't teach your kids everything. But I promise you, my kids will forever know that 'Playoff Jimmy Butler' is pure special. We might not get to capitals of the world, but THAT will be hammered home!!! 🔨
Would LOVE to see how HS coaches respond when their bosses correct them the same way their correct their players… maybe raising your voice & yelling & embarrassing isn’t the best way 2 teach & correct anyone 🤔 Not so fun when ur on the other side I would guess #TheresABetterWay
Amazes me how coaches swear by 2 for 1s for first 3 quarters. But late game, everything goes out the window. If it makes sense in the 2nd quarter, how does it not still make sense in the 4th???
Its been a minute, but looking forward to presenting at A Step Up Live in Charlotte May 23rd. Talking on planning elite practices, bc I genuinely believe there is nothing more important you do as a coach. https://t.co/SgqLK3SmOD
Never been less impressed than when I ask someone for help and they reply telling me how busy they are. Helping me/us is literally your job description. Amazed how often that happens. Be someone who gets things done. Reputations are usually well earned...
Used to believe u saved your challenge for late game. Quickly changed philosophy. Realized that anytime you can challenge and take away a scoring opportunity, you have to do it. Challenges go unused too often and points early have the same impact as points late.
Coaches, come get prepared for YOUR big moment!
