@ModestTeacher I had a no phone policy in my room....but they were still hooked on them as they moved from room to room. Our school went cell phone free for grades 7 to 9 and it has been great so far.

@DrBradJohnson What do you do for students that regularly waste class time and rarely finish their class work in class time.
I try not to assign homework, but some students lack motivation and wouldn't have anything to assess if they didn't finish on their own time.

@Dean_of_math Some would for sure, but it would be hard to motivate a student to simplify polynomials or name compounds if they have no desire to take that class and just need to pass a course sos they can move into a field they like.
