Absolute garbage!!!
What you tolerate…you condone.
Parents and coaches have lost their minds. Where are these kids learning this crap?
MLB is not helping.
Whatever happened to getting ejected for throwing equipment? Sad state of baseball.
How is this celebrated?!?
What the hell is wrong with people?!
Where are the coaches? Umpires? What parent in the right mind wouldn’t drag their son off the field if he did that? Pathetic!!
Great night coaching a group of very talented players at the Junior Select All-Star Game yesterday.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of it and best of luck to all the players!

Kids do what the adults allow them to do. Sit them or suspend them and they’ll act properly.
What you tolerate…you condone!
32 years of coaching HS and travel and I have NEVER allowed kids act the way that some coaches allow their players to act in today’s game.
I wish there was a better way than playing tournaments every weekend over the summer. Tournaments do bring some very good competition, but the wear & tear on the body playing 5-6 games in 2-3 days is not good! Playing one game a day for 4-5 days is a way better model. Ideas?
After 32 years of coaching HS baseball I have one remaining game.
Going out by coaching in the Junior Select All-Star game on June 18th.
Thank you to:
Charlie Senft for my first job.
Joe Reitano who I assisted for 14 years.
And to Wayne Thrall for my first head coaching job.
@AugieNash In his 34 starts he went at least 7 innings in all of them. He didn’t go at least 9 innings only 8 times.
He didn’t have to pitch the bottom of the 9th once because the Cards lost on the road.
The other 7 times he was pinch hit for late.
HE WAS NEVER REMOVED FROM THE MOUND!
@MLB Be careful. If something becomes common it isn’t special anymore. You’re turning this game into slow-pitch softball! Don’t get me started on how low BA’s and high K rates have been accepted as the “norm”.
The game is NOT better!
Amen!
Been saying this for 31 years coaching HS kids. Stop wasting your money on all those lessons and listen to one of the greatest hitters to ever play!
George Brett on “launch angle” philosophy:
“I get in arguments all the time with hitting coaches and players today . . . My bat [was] coming through the zone on the same plane as the ball. That’s why I didn’t strike out. Nowadays players strike out all the time, because their bat is in and out of the zone, on the same plane as the ball, for a short period of time. I will go to my grave vowing that my theory is better than they’re teaching now.”
3,154 hits. George Brett knows what he is talking about. Hope you enjoy the full podcast.

School ball is coming to a close, and you start to realize that some of these seniors I’ve played baseball with or against since I was 4 years old.
Some of these guys I’ve played T ball with.
And in just a few weeks….
It will be over.
I won’t see them in the hall next year, I won’t see them in class, they won’t be in the clubhouse next year, they won’t be suited up to play in practice or games.
They will be gone.
Gone on to bigger and better things- off to different colleges around the country.
Some will be playing college ball others will just be starting their next chapter somewhere else.
In the end….
It’s been a great ride- proud to be your teammate and friend.
Don’t take one moment for granted and on to the next chapter.
Love this game.
God bless y’all.

@double5 You asked the question. Who would you remove? FFT…If Jeter played in KC and had the same stats with no WS titles or the press coverage from being in NY would you still feel the same? BTW…I’m a Yankee fan and love Jeter!
@CS_Pxp What ever happened to respecting your opponent? Trash talking can lead to bench clearing brawls. Maybe 1 warning, but ejections need to happen. I think coaches and parents need to do a better job at teaching players, especially young players, some sportsmanship.
