How do you make a school athletics program better? I’ll start.
1. School-wide strength and performance program and commitment to it. Preferably someone overseeing it all
2. Best athletes in school MUST be multi-sport guys.
Some informal data looking at results of lifting on game/meet days compared to not lifting…using our game day protocols…hard to come up with criteria for field sports. Track? Looked at it today. Nearly 100% improved performance on days they lifted over not. 100% in sprints.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Some Apex Predators that stepped up and showed out last strength cycle. 130# jump in squat, 50# jump in bench, 515# squat, 21 strict pull ups, 50# jump in power clean, 9’0 broad jump (not pictured, too busy winning a track meet) #TouchdownVTown
Our team finished up their first strength cycle right before Spring Break. We have gone up over 4,300lbs in maxes! These men have embraced the weight room and the results are evident. We are excited to keep building on our success. #TouchdownVTown
