RIP Coach Gunther. One of the best and most loyal people I have ever met. He and his wife Jane took me in right away when I arrived at UND and stayed in touch when I left. He was a legend on and off the court. Amazing person. Thankful to have known him.

UND Athletics mourns the loss of legendary men's basketball coach Dave Gunther. He was 86.

Gunther was one of the most successful coaches in UND history, serving as the bench boss for 18 seasons from 1971-88.
