For every touchdown that Stiddy throws today I’ll give away one of these https://t.co/OClGdKgSbA Orange footballs to someone that Likes & Retweets this.
Good luck 🤝♻️
Training Camp “stats” are insane and ridiculous.
Used to think it was always just people joking, but now seeing them seriously reported.
You have no idea what the purpose of that period is, what the goals are, what the context is, etc.
It could be a strictly 3rd & Long blitz period where every play is skewed to the defenses advantage. Coaches could be asking the QB to focus specifically on one route concept. DLine may be focusing only on bull rushes one day or just speed rushes for one period.
More importantly, practice is for practicing. You’re supposed to fail. You’re supposed to try new things, see what works and what doesn’t work, etc. If you only do what works, you’ll never grow, adapt, change.
The entire point of training camp is to build and grow towards the season so that you perform your best when the real games start.
First High School Lacrosse Game for Fort Zumwalt in nearly 5 years. We fielded a 20 player C team versus Lafayette’s JV team this evening. Not the outcome we wanted but the boys are not flinching. They know we are here for the long run building a PROGRAM together.
School boards and administrators need to tackle these “Barstool” pages of local high schools that are posting some heinous material about opposing teams and players. It’s inciting violence in some cases and affecting the mental health of teens who are already vulnerable
Fort Zumwalt Ducks Lacrosse had our first throw-around yesterday. 14 freshmen (mostly multi-sport guys) found time to make it out. It was a great time getting back to the fundamentals. We can't wait to embark on our journey this spring!
I’ve coached high school football for 30 years and have had ZERO parent drama…and I mean zero.
How??
I established a simple rule day 1 of my coaching career. DURING the season, I will not talk to parents about their son’s playing time, position or the plays that are called.
AFTER or BEFORE the season I’m happy to sit down and talk football.
It’s the athletes job to talk to his coach about those things. Ask questions, gain an understanding. Learn how to communicate!
If you can build trust with your athletes, create space for parent conversations outside the season, the stress and pressure of the season won’t be ruined by some parent who thinks they know better than you.
CONDITIONING 🔋
❌ Instead of running Gassers ⛽️
✅ Play Sharks & Minnows 🦈
We’ve been playing this game for years. Kids ask every single week if it’s on the schedule. The big fellas hate “conditioning,” but they love some Sharks & Minnows.
KIRK HERBSTREIT ON PARENTING
"I'm cool with my kids failing... It's part of the process. Every day there is adversity... They have to learn how to deal with junk... It's okay to make a mistake. Get back up and let's keep going forward."
