Recruiting Tip: Every HS coach, personal trainer or athlete who ask a college coach to open their DM's and that film is not at the level that coach is looking for, most likely they will never look at your messages again. Always make sure someone evaluates the film before you send
I'm going to say this again for all you young athletes, its all about who you know! If your head coach doesn't know a lot of coaches then find someone who does, you have to have someone who can vouch for you. Its such a crucial part of the process.
You need to know how a program has been operating for the past 5 years, how successful have they been, some schools don't have time to develop HS guy they need guys to come in now if you do your research you'd be surprised how much better your recruiting would improve
Recruiting is about relationships, if you or your coaches are not connected with college coaches your chances of not being seen are high. Just because a coach follows you or ask you to fill out the questionnaire doesn't mean they are interested
If you think JUCO athletics is not for you and you feel its a step below you then you are way behind in the recruiting world. College sport teams dont have time to develop a HS ATH coaches are getting fired at a faster rate right now
The harsh reality of college sports is that a very small percentage can play D1 athletics, its more then just being a good athlete, can you overcome adversity? how do you bounce back from a bad performance? are you satisfied when you play well?
Stop tagging college coaches on tweets or when they respond to a tweet it makes you look desperate.
Have a coach evaluate your film before you start reaching out to college coaches. If someone tells you that your D1 get another opinion one person isn't enough
Here's a fun fact for you student athletes, when your HS coach sends a list of 5-10 guys most likely thats hurting all of you. Coach has to send his top guy. Heard that from a D1 guy yesterday. They have so many to look at they just want to see the very best
Nothing sad about what the coach said ! Sometimes you gotta gamble on yourself, there are lots of athletes that are having to do the same thing in order to make the goals and dreams they have possible. You dont want to take a loan out thats what it comes down to.
Told a coach I couldnโt afford to go to college and he told me football isnโt for everyone ๐๐๐คฆ๐พโโ๏ธ sad that grown men act this way
Best recruiting advice I could give athletes right now; DO NOT over look junior college athletics, there are some real benefits that a lot of athletes have no clue about
College sports is taken very serious now more than ever, coaches are going to be very picky in what they want. If you are late to class, have bad grades and you dont work hard. Why would they take a chance on you with a scholarship that is worth over 200k
HS athletes are saying the portal is hurting their recruiting but honestly some of you are in denial that you might not be good enough for that level. Portal is bad but it actually creates opportunity year around. Think about that
ONE BIG THING THAT I LEARNED FROM TALKING WITH THOSE COACHES TODAY, ATHLETES BETTER KNOW PEOPLE. THE ADULTS IN YOUR LIFE WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR ATHLETIC CAREER ARE SO IMPORTANT, I CAN'T EMPHASIZE IT ENOUGH!
Just got off the phone with a Mountain West Assistant Head Coach!!!! Great connection with a good dude!!! things are starting to happen big time. Who wants to be apart of it ?
As of today we have 108 FBS/FCS contacts but everyone wants to go to NCSA so your profile can sit there lol These are personal cell phone numbers of coaches not emails ... phone numbers!
