@gblondon1@skytv@virginmedia You’ll be switching back to sky in 2 years when virgin do exactly the same, double your bill whilst offering new customers the same service at 1/4 of the price, it’s a market I genuinely do not understand.
To any young kid reading this…
I’ve doubted myself in every league I’ve ever played in.
Ryman Prem.
Conference South.
League Two.
League One.
Championship…
And even right before my first Premier League start last night.
That’s not weakness.
That’s being human.
That’s being alive.
When I was growing up, I thought Premier League players were superhuman.
Like they never felt doubt.
Like they never felt nerves.
The truth is…. it’s often the opposite.
Social media won’t tell you that sometimes you step out there with no confidence. That’s normal. That’s ok!
You now have to then step out there with courage.
Confidence feels good.
Courage doesn’t.
But you do it anyway. Show courage enough times…. You build confidence.
Here’s the mindset that’s carried me for 31 years.
When it goes well:
I worked for it.
I earned it.
Well done.
Watch it back.
Get better.
When it doesn’t:
I know I prepared the best I could.
It didn’t go exactly to plan. That’s football.
But Well done.
Watch it back.
Get better.
That simple recipe gave me a special moment last night.
Leading the team out.
Playing alongside a group that fights for every ball.
Celebrates tackles.
Gives everything for the city of Sunderland.
And sharing it with supporters who never gave up, even after four tough seasons in League One.
So if you’re a young player feeling doubt…
Low confidence…
Or like you don’t believe in yourself…
You’re not alone.
Every player feels it.
Confidence isn’t something you’re given.
It’s something you build.
Bit by bit.
Day by day.
With courage.
With work.
With learning.
Anything worth building takes time.
But that’s what makes it so worthwhile!
Thank you @SunderlandAFC ❤️🤍
Liverpool fans appear to be flocking in their masses to my profile after tonight’s game, so I’m resharing this. Any contributions would mean the absolute world to this little boy and his adoring family. That target of £393,000 is getting closer! 🙏🏽
It is my son’s 45th birthday today. Another birthday he has not enjoyed with his family because of an indiscriminate IRA bomb. Tim has lived on through the charity and it’s peace building work and so his life has served 000’s of others. God bless you my son
Last night at Anfield will stay with me forever - not because of one person's words, but because of how the entire football family stood together.
To my @afcbournemouth teammates who supported me in that moment, to the @LiverpoolFC players and fans who showed their true character, to the @premierleague officials who handled it professionally - thank you. Football showed its best side when it mattered most.
Scoring those two goals felt like speaking the only language that truly matters on the pitch. This is why I play - for moments like these, for my teammates, for everyone who believes in what this beautiful game can be.
The overwhelming messages of support from across the football world remind me why I love this sport. We keep moving forward, together. 🙏🏾⚽

🗣️ Jules Koundé:
"Football players can go six months or even a whole year without getting paid and still live comfortably, without it affecting them at all...
Unlike the people who leave their homes at 7 AM and come back at 8 PM, just to earn a small amount for their families...
I don’t get why fans look up to football players as role models. I wouldn’t recommend it. The real role model is the dad who works hard every day for his family. "
Hard to disagree with him. 👏
