#GBDoc Help! I am fed up with omnipod, but love Android AAPS. My pump updgrade choice is Dana i with either AAPS or CamAPS or Ypsopump with CamAPS. As a pump the Ypso looks nicer, but will I regret leaving AAPS? I can't find much about the differences.
#GBDoc please tell me your experience of retina surgery. I have a possible tear so have an emergency appointment with the surgeon tomorrow and might need laser.
@T1D_Coeliac @DiabeticDadUK HbA1c is not the only criteria for a pump. I got one because I was struggling with exercise and hypos. As for spikes from drinks - a pump doesn't really stop those, but occasionally I will take the hit, because life is meant to be enjoyable 😊
Steroid injection day 1. Shot up after a hypo at lunch, for some reason AAPS didn't put my basal back on until my BG started coming back down. I think it's struggling with the amount of IOB? Still, a hypo after a steroid injection is quite impressive 🤣 #GBDoc#wearenotwaiting
@DiabeticDadUK Now my son is also T1 I'm a member of parent groups and I feel like I need this on quick-paste! I'm not saying I never worry about my son's BG (or mine!) but perspective is SO IMPORTANT. I never had any idea of spikes etc growing up on finger pricks and mixed insulin. Still here!
Steroid injection day 1 #gbdoc#wearenotwaiting I set my basal profile to 120% over night, and the loop managed to keep me roughly in range with constant SMBs, so this morning I increased to 150%. Just had breakfast with 120% bolus... so fingers crossed that will be enough.
20ish years since I first did @DAFNEUK, and have just finished a remote DAFNE Pump course with @ClaireHenke1! Hard work but I'm going to miss my Thurs PM diabetes chat!
I can’t get enough of this. He’s like a reverse Robin Hood. Taking from the have-nots to give the wealthy more places to sit outside Pret A Manger.
It doesn’t surprise me, it’s just fantastic that he’s just come out and said it.
