DEFENSE VICTORIOUSLY CONCLUDES CROSS EXAMINATION OF THIRD PROSECUTION WITNESS
The defense team led by Counsel Samuel Atta Akyea, Esq has successfully concluded nine weeks of intensive and vigorous cross-examination of the prosecution’s third witness, Madam Mildred Donkor.
Madam Donkor, a former director of the Third Accused company, previously stood as an accused person charged with conspiracy to steal and money laundering in the matter but was subsequently converted into a prosecution witness after reaching an “agreement” with the prosecution.
However, during cross-examination by defence counsel, Madam Donkor made a number of admissions that appear to depart significantly from the public narrative advanced by the Attorney General regarding the case.
Among the key admissions made by the witness were the following:
• Transactions were conducted through official banking channels and recorded in bank statements CONTRARY to the AG’s claim that monies were moved in a complex web of criminal network.
• Multiple National Security officials, including the head of finance of the NSB, Deputy Director General and senior management personnel, accessed and withdrew funds from the BNC Operations Account CONTRARY to the AG’s claim that the BNC account was a private account used to divert state funds.
• More than GH¢9 million in cedi equivalent was paid to ISC Holdings of Israel CONTRARY to the AG’s claim that no monies were paid to ISC holdings.
• Her dealings with Adu-Boahene were part of ordinary banking and corporate activities CONTRARY to the AG’s public narrative that she was part of a criminal syndicate that stole and laundered state funds.
• Advantage Solutions was a legitimate company incorporated in 2008 and engaged in genuine business operations CONTRARY to the AG’s public narrative that Advantage Solutions was a criminal enterprise incorporated for the purposes of stealing state funds.
• Advantage Solutions and its subsidiaries pre-financed National Security operations and recorded those expenditures as loans.
• There is no GH¢ 16 million fixed deposit in Adu Boahene’s name CONTRARY to the AG’s bold claim that Adu Boahene invested state money in his name.
This is really sad!
A mother and her child drowned in a galamsey pit.
SMH. The government drags its feet on fighting galamsey, and now everyone’s gone quiet. Why??
@berlamundi can you please start adding your voice again???
When leadership meets action, communities benefit. A 150-bed maternity ward at 70% completion is another step toward better healthcare for the people of Nsawam.
