Aside from individuals, I think this could apply to all companies in the K-pop industry (and in general, but let me focus on this to make my point).

​When an idol shows even a glimpse of their humanity, a loud portion of those so called "fans" reacts with outrage. And instead of standing by their artists, companies would rather terminate contracts or discard incredibly talented people just to protect the revenue coming from those "fans". Because to them, losing a talented artist is just a "great thing gone." It’s a loss they’re completely willing to take since they view idols as replaceable inventory anyway. What actually terrifies them is the "small thing lost": the threat of losing a few dollars from "fans" demanding absolute perfection.

​And honestly, this applies to those "fans" too. It’s wild how they feel more personally offended by a mistake than by the fact that they’re ruining the life of a person who is a core part of the group and has genuine feelings. They care more about them not being perfect and living up to their standards than about ruining the career of a whole human being.

​In the end, as they say in that last line, maybe the dollar was never even the point. What really drives both the companies and those "fans" is that unexplainable, insistent urge to control and reclaim every single bit of perfection, no matter how small, because it satisfies their image and gives them the chance to demand even more if everything is as perfect as they claim. They’d rather pull a human being off the shelf at the slightest sign of a defect than let even one dollar or perfect image slip away. It’s just deeply saddening to see how someone's worth and art are sacrificed over an endless compulsion.
