Not a career diplomat who understands the language, the culture, and the threat. A business-council fixer whose “extensive China ties” are precisely the problem. Beijing asked for a politically connected envoy and Carney is delivering one who already speaks their language of access and accommodation.

While ordinary Canadians drown in $2.35 trillion federal debt, 84,000 net job losses in a single recent month, $670 billion in stalled energy, mining and infrastructure projects throttled by Bill C-69, DRIPA, and net-zero dogma, this government chases EV imports, canola deals, and financial working groups with the very regime that hollowed out our industrial base and now seeks deeper penetration of our institutions.

This is not diversification away from the United States. It is trading one dependency for a far more predatory one, while the same elite circuit that profits from the junkets lectures the rest of us about “strategic partnership.” Sovereignty is not a photo-op. National security is not a residual after the Canada-China Business Council finishes its work.

Enough. No more revolving-door envoys. No more narrative comfort. Put Canadian productive capacity, uniform Charter equality, and hard-eyed realism first. Anything less is continued surrender.
