For all the people who care about humanity, and feminists who claim to be ones, currently there’s a massive outcry in Iraq against (the Ja’afr civil code/law),
What does it indicate/mean?
1- it’s fully legal for children/teens who are 12 and even 9 to get married taking advantage/using the Religious legislation - legislation of marrying girls who are only 8.5 yo - ( to get married to adults who mostly are way older than them even 40s, 50s) under this law!
2- As for inheritance matters, a woman (the wife) cannot inherit any land!.
3- under this law the husband is able - even without his wife’s consent/ knowledge- to shift the terms of the marriage contract at anytime to this horrible law
4- the divorce clause is a pure humiliation, sexualizing, dehumanizing clause for women ( if your husband beats you, it’s a “Disciplinary beating “ unless he causes you an injury your divorce request is not seen to be taken seriously and right! )
5- terms after the divorce; the children custody,
It’s automatically the father’s right! The child can live with their mother only their first 7 yrs, even if the child chooses their mother, they have no right to be so until they’re adults!.
