Below is the performance by Unitree Robotics at the 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala.
I take immense pride in having invested in Unitree as a fund partner prior to the first half of 2020. During my 2021 interview with 36Kr https://t.co/Gpt2ureFnd , which featured my discussion with founder Wang Xingxing—I spoke about my absolute confidence in this team. I also noted back then that Chinese policy would pivot toward providing strong support for this sector.
Looking at where we are now, those predictions have fully come to fruition. Since the interview and the videos in the link all date back to 2021, this clearly isn't a case of Monday morning quarterbacking.
This robot doesn't walk. It grows. 🤖
Meet FiloBot, a vine-inspired robot developed by researchers at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT).
Instead of using wheels or legs, FiloBot can extend its body by 3D-printing new material as it moves, allowing it to navigate tight and hard-to-reach spaces.
Potential applications include:
🔹 Search & rescue
🔹 Environmental monitoring
🔹 Confined-space inspection
🔹 Archaeological exploration
What if future robots could explore by growing instead of walking? 👀
