Got another ~8.5× speedup in aurora-rust (C syntax highlighter). 🦀

~1M lines of C tokenized in ~80ms. ⚡

Key optimizations:
- Used `String` -> `&str` per token
- `Vec<char>` -> byte indexing with pre-allocated vector capacity
- keyword lookup -> `HashSet`

@Gamingtronium In android it uses the Google(Pre-installed) app for gemini, and this 2MB app is the wrapper kind of thing.

Got a 10x speedup in aurora-rust today by accident.

3ms → 323µs

Turns out .chars().nth(n) in Rust is O(n), not O(1). Was calling it every single token.

Switched to Vec<char> upfront. That's it.

Optional param (age?: number) !== param that can be undefined (age: number | undefined).
I pick the second—clearer intent, fewer footguns, better APIs.
TypeScript rewards explicitness.

Some junior devs forgot there’s a thing called Find & Replace. They only know AI now 🤡

Not the same thing.

Claude Sonnet 4.5 in GitHub Copilot isn’t slower — it just feels dumber near the end of the month 😑 Same prompts, worse reasoning, more nonsense outputs 🧠 Anyone else seeing this?🤔

@ritoban2dutta Don't know. But for vscode & Electron it does maybe 🤔.
