Is it permissible for a woman to change her surname due to marriage?
If you are a Muslim woman, please listen to this. In our religion, your identity is not a piece of clothing you discard just because you signed a marriage contract. The bond of lineage, what we call Nasab, is sacred and immovable.
When a woman marries, she does not become the property of her husband’s family tree. She remains the daughter of her father. This is why you see that the wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him) never became "Aisha Muhammad" or "Khadija Muhammad." They were always known by their fathers.
The Quran is very direct about this when it tells us to call people by the names of their fathers because that is more just in the sight of Allah. Taking a husband’s surname in a way that wipes out your own father's name is technically a violation of this principle of truth.
Also, this issue has a very dark side in our societies. Because people think a girl child will eventually "carry another man's name," they start to see her as a temporary guest.
This is where the obsession with male children comes from. People will go to extreme lengths, sometimes even moving into the haram, just to get a son who will "immortalize" the family name. It is a tragedy.
A daughter is a blessing that can lead her parents to Jannah, yet we treat her name like it is a placeholder. When a woman keeps her father’s name, it sends a powerful message that her identity is permanent. She is a person in her own right, not just a branch moved from one forest to another.
Having said this, it is critical I talk about how the world is at the moment. We live in a world of passports, visas, and complex legal systems, especially in the West. It can be a nightmare to travel with children if the mother’s name doesn't match the rest of the family on paper.
This is where the wisdom of modern scholars comes in. Many have given a concession for the compound format. You can keep your father’s name as your primary identity but add the husband’s name for legal recognition.
This way, you fulfill the administrative requirements of the state without cutting the tie to your own lineage. It is a middle ground that respects the law of the land while staying true to the law of the Almighty God.
Islam allows you to keep your roots while navigating the modern branches.
Allah knows best.
Bellingham is covering up his stinker with a goal. He’d have been better off in the centre circle spinning around and controlling tempo, even if he losses possession. Midfielders shouldn’t score goals. It’s not their job.
We are just gonna wake up tomorrow and pretend like a 23 year old midfielder scoring back to back braces to carry his country to a World Cup semi final after carrying them to a EURO final 2 years ago is completely normal
Better than your attacking midfielder.
Better than your central midfielder.
Better than your defending midfielder.
Everything your favorite can do, Jude Bellingham does it better.
🫂 Erling Haaland: “Real Madrid and England are lucky to have Jude Bellingham, and everyone want Jude Bellingham on their team”.
“He's one of the BEST players in the world”.
🚨 Jude Bellingham at this World Cup:
• 6 goals, 1 assist, 4 MOTM, 6 games.
• First player since Maradona to score at a brace at the Azteca.
• First player to score B2B braces in K/O stage since Maradona
• The youngest player to score B2B braces in K/O stage after Pelé.
• Scored more goals than Rooney at MAJOR INT tournaments.
• The first midfielder to score 5+ goals for England at the World Cup.
- No backward passes
- No sideway passes
- No spinning
- No unnecessary dribbles
- No tiki taka
Just a straight baller!!! Goal getter!! Box to Box freak!!!!
Jude Belligham is better than any midfielder that has come out from La Masia!!! Both dead and alive.
Jude Bellingham can mark, carry, pass, assist, score, play as a pivot, play as AM, play as false 9… but because one certain Spanish has finesse and can control the tempo of a game he’s better than this machine
You people joke a lot Walai
My cousin’s wife packages and sells kulikuli, she started recently, so sales never dey really move like that.
The lovely husband who plays football every two weeks around Surulere comes to the pitch with a full bag of kulikuli and sells to boys at the field, and he usually goes back home with an empty bag after football.
This is a simple act of service that money cannot buy.
I don't know why people that watched this game think they can beat France.
The only reason they can beat France is, anything is possible in football (and one doesn't need this game to know that).
But if anyone is basing their assertion that Spain can beat France from what Spain have been playing in this tournament, including today, I don't think they have been watching the same games we have been watching.
