ok, I have to be fair - tonight's crew at @comcastcares did walk me thru quite a few very useful debugging steps and we have determined it might be my 20yr old filter/splitter! ordered a new one and will find out tomorrow

@comcastcares so explain to me how I am supposed to diagnose my cable modem when your app says no outages but my cable modem is offline and the phone menu system won't let me get past the reset modem step BECAUSE MY MODEM IS OFFLINE - seriously?
