@yFactr The video is correct. Coming out of the pandemic LA let go a bunch of street sweeping employees and went biweekly. They aren’t supposed to ticket in the off weeks. They were too cheap to update the signs. They let you look up which days they actually sweep https://t.co/3R0Agr0Eyi
@NateSilver538 This is a mix of both policy choices (emphasis on VBM, a week of grace period for ballots to be received, a long cure period, etc) and process choices (e.g. how many machines and people are available to conduct the count). How much of the pace is attributable to each?
@bendreyfuss The problem is that Paradise isn’t a well-written enough show for it to not be a Time Machine. I enjoy it but we both know what we’re watching.
@mattyglesias That sounds true for the general right now, but these odds factor in both fundamentals (Texas is hard) and the product of candidate quality x their odds of inning the primary. The probabilities will move after the primary and it could overtake Iowa.
@LACountyRRCC I got the state to correct an error my son’s birth certificate, but when I came to get copies the recorder’s office didn’t have the amendment. The state said to get you to request a copy again. How can I make sure you do that before I come again?
@dennismhogan I haven’t turned on the local news in a bit, so maybe things have changed slightly, but in the 2010s the monthly downtown LA art walk event pretty regularly ended in similar levels of “unrest”.
This is incredible…everyone was saying the MS 13 was added to the photo as a translation of the symbols on his knuckles.
Now Trump is going against them and saying he actually has the MS 13 on his knuckles when that’s clearly false.
@dennismhogan I can cognitively understand the paint color (muted paint colors let people envision what they want, and paint is relatively cheap and easy to do when you move in). We need a law or encyclical or something about how gray floors bring you further from god’s light, though.
@dennismhogan Some of the FedSoc folks at SDNY seem to have a line, at least. I expect most of them will fall in line over time, and the President seems to think so too since he didn’t do a big loyalty test. Or this is the loyalty test.
@dennismhogan It’s unclear whether they were asked and accepted, out just plucked up to serve. Even if they were asked, these appointments are temporary. Maybe they thought he wouldn’t speedrun a crisis?
