@thosethatcan when I had my first big prang and hit a parked car, people told me which house was the owner’s and I knocked to apologise. I was in such shock I burst into tears, and they took me in and made me tea! I think of their kindness every time I drive (carefully!) through the village ❤️
@GCSE_Macbeth Virgin Suicides by J Eugenides and Hey Nostradamus by D Coupland. I enjoyed it so, so much, even if the eventual comparative essay wasn’t very good.
@alomshaha I’m a big fan of the ‘nicer than they’d buy for themselves’ sort of thing - aluminium needles are really smooth to use, yarn made from quality fibres, that sort of thing. For little accessories, point protectors come in handy, and embroidery scissors.
@1stclassmaths Maths definitely gets it the most, but students in the library tell me there’s no point to pretty much every subject because ‘we’ll never need that in real life’
Recently had an intervention student tell me she doesn’t need to learn to read “because my mum’ll do that for me”!
