In 2022 I self-published my first novel on Amazon KDP.

Two years later, after the site kept prompting me to review a book I'd bought — my own — I gave in and wrote one. It opened with: "Apparently, I can review my own book!"

Against the rules. I'd forgotten.

@AmazonHelp @AmazonKDP In @AmazonKDP s defence, the problem is the people who are purposefully manipulating the system. For those that make a mistake, you are lumped in with them.

Amazon can’t distinguish between the two types of people. And they have no appeal process.

@AmazonHelp No. I deleted the review. Amazon didn’t delete it.

Amazon has blocked my book and I don’t know how to get it reinstated.

I deleted the review to fix the problem.

@AmazonHelp I got nothing from this. The chat put me through to a person who sent the details to the review team with the expectation I would hear something within 4 business days. Well, it's the 23rd now - a load more than 4 business days.

Or is that book dead forever?
