VSCode now has bracket pair colorization natively baked in! Aims to be faster than the popular Bracket Pair Colorizer extension. Smooth so far: https://t.co/UpSYP6Pc6s
The <img> element now supports lazy-loading, async decoding and many other features: https://t.co/QcbvWLQfT7 I wrote about how to optimize UX & the Core Web Vitals with it.

"Always design a thing by considering it in its next larger context - a chair in a room, a room in a house, a house in an environment, an environment in a city plan." -- Eliel Saarinen
This is so important in software systems.
Why are we so shallow when we teach software development? 80% of the books are about stuff that you can read and learn *everywhere*, what about: observability, tracing, profiling, hardening, error handling/reporting, documentation, verification, ... All details? Sure...
The reason why often the users of a system and the designers of it have unaligned goals, is that the first are trying to solve a tactical problem, the seconds a strategical problem.

Today, my dad cried over the phone, he wanted one week where he could use his computer without my help.
He's blind.
Each inaccessible webpage tells him, "you aren't welcome in this world."
If you don't know whether your website or app is accessible: it's not.
