A person with 49% support should not be replaced by someone with only 12% support. But that's what these recalls allow.

@Miss1ngtheMark @Puzzle80X @quiddie Yes; the difference is that human behavior is far more complex and unpredictable than physics. If you rely on rudimentary “common sense” assumptions, then you will be wrong more often than right. Luckily, we have decades of data to help us avoid the same mistakes! Don’t waste it.
@Miss1ngtheMark @Puzzle80X @quiddie We have tested many approaches over the years and found that the best way to reduce a behavior is to reduce the need people have for it. So if you want fewer abortions, make them less necessary. And whatever you do, DON’T criminalize it! That just makes everything worse.
@Miss1ngtheMark @Puzzle80X @quiddie Drug cartels exist today for the same reason. People who feel like they need something will pay hand over fist to get it. And if the thing they need is illegal, all that money goes straight to criminals. When people have legal opinions, those cartels evaporate!

@ladytea @BtSquared2 Oh, definitely! Some people can manage their diabetes through diet alone, so that’s always the route to try first. 👍 But some people can’t. And that’s okay. The important thing is to find the level of help that’s right for you and periodically check that it still fits.
@ladytea @BtSquared2 When a diabetic needs an insulin pump, no one criticizes them for being “chemically dependent”; they’re just deficient and taking a supplement as prescribed. It’s the same with stimulants for ADHD. Our brains underproduce dopamine etc., and meds help correct that. 🤗💕
