We learn by chess the habit of not being discouraged by present bad appearances in the state of our affairs, the habit of hoping for a favorable change, and that of persevering in the search for resources.

I’m at the gym bench pressing. As I sit up after finishing my set a black guy with tattoos all over his face gives me a fist bump and tells me “That’s what I’m talking about man let all of that aggression out.”
I had a bad day today so I appreciated that
@top_pachuco “The Spanish - who are white”
Interesting how other groups (for example, the English) don’t say corresponding things: “The English - who are white”. I wonder why that is
@p8stie You’re a beautiful foid who knows nothing but bask in sun and smoke cigarette. You need a male who is knowledgeable about cars to accompany you to a dealership
I am knowledgeable about cars btw
Chomsky unfortunately can't speak for himself due to his 2023 stroke. But Valeria was a central part of the relationship he had with Epstein, so anyone speaking about that should at least read her version.
Central to all this was the rather extreme war that Chomsky's sons were waging on him over his first wife's estate, apparently due to common but childish resentment that he re-married after his wife of 60 years died of brain cancer. It put him not only in financial difficulties but also extreme distress at having your own kids wage a war against you in your 90s over money.
Epstein, as he so often did, opportunistically exploited that situation by offering a life raft as he felt as he is were drowning, and that in turned generated misguided feelings of gratitude and affection. None of that exonerates Chomsky's choices, but for awhile I was genuinely baffled as to why Chomsky would not only meet with Epstein (Chomsky met with anyone) but develop such a close bond, and now I at least understand it.
Spaniards would have you believe that although they couldn’t defeat their poor and miserable colonies in their wars of independence, they broke the fighting power of the Emperor.
What can you honestly say about people like this that wouldn’t get you banned from this platform?
@Clint_Davey1 The Emperor lost 0 battles in Spain. In fact, he thought so little of Spain that he hardly even bothered to fight there himself, instead passing them to subordinates like his brother. And on top of that, it’s the British who led the fight against French forces there.
This guy is not my “fellow American” in any way. The only thing we have in common is that we occupy the same political landmass, which he wants to dispossess me of.
We have no shared values to speak of whatsoever, and I will support any political leader or movement that will denaturalize and deport him along with everyone else like him.
@mana99475524@Clint_Davey1 Bailen was more important for Spanish self-esteem than it was for the actual war. Very soon afterward, the Emperor arrived, defeated the Spanish, and then departed.
It’s you who needs to read more.

@escapefrommelos Losing weight is a very simple affair: consume less calories.
In contrast, gaining muscle is quite difficult. You have to destroy your muscles in the gym and then eat far more calories and protein than you’d prefer in order to see them grow.
