Until OBAA, my favorite moviegoing experience of 2025 was finally seeing THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR at The Vista on my birthday. So this is such great news for everyone who’s been yearning to see KILL BILL this way.
Here’s something I dashed off about how special it is back in July.

For what it's worth, “I don't know how to do her hair right" choked me up in the theatre; two daughters in and I can't even curl a pigtail, not for lack of trying. The line is loaded beyond that (and worth parsing) but I thought it rang true, a small part of a larger failure.
William Friedkin directed at least four films I believe to be stone cold classics: Sorcerer, The Exorcist, To Live & Die in LA & of course here in The French Connection. At his best, Friedkin was as good as any director to come out of the ‘70s. I miss him & Hackman dearly.
