Homelessness has decreased significantly in Finland. The reason: a true Housing First approach. Those surviving homelessness receive a small apartment and counselling – without any preconditions. Their data shows all this is cheaper than accepting homelessness as a society.

I was honoured to present some of our @uhn homelessness and health work in Helsinki —
@ysaatio leadership and political will has saved thousands of lives.

For us in Canada, the moral, economic, and health/human costs of the status quo are far too expensive. I leave with the conviction that we can/must end homelessness in this lifetime.
