Homelessness has decreased significantly in Finland. The reason: a true Housing First approach. Those surviving homelessness receive a small apartment and counselling – without any preconditions. Their data shows all this is cheaper than accepting homelessness as a society.

For us in Canada, the moral, economic, and health/human costs of the status quo are far too expensive. I leave with the conviction that we can/must end homelessness in this lifetime.

Another for the book, a Northern Shrike. I have only seen a couple in the area in 42 years and this one came right near the feeder. They are also called Butchebirds, for the way they kill their prey. #birds#Predator#NaturePhotograhpy
What a great day today. These images were taken between 4:15 and 5:30, mostly sitting on the deck in the sun with a glass of wine, camera handy watching the action. The Cardinal was singing its heart out. #Naturephotography
With regular sightings of #Coyotes and #Foxes,
#Eagles and #Hawks, it seems a tad strange to see three bunnies near the bird feeder this afternoon at the same time. There was not a lot of light left when I took this too I never thought I would get them all in the same frame.
