Unlocking the Power of Typography: A Visual Language Beyond Words
Typography, a silent yet powerful communicator in the vast design landscape, goes beyond letters and words to convey emotions, set tones, and guide experiences.
A thread on how I resolved my Payoneer payment issue and the new solution I discovered.🧵
When receiving international payments from clients, I typically use @greyfinance or @geegpay_hq. However, there are often clients who insist on using payment processors like PayPal, Paynoneer, or WISE.
So, a few weeks back, I attempted to receive payment from one of such clients using Payoneer (I use it occasionally). Still, the funds got held when it got to Payoneer, and I was asked to provide documents, which I did, but they kept rejecting them. I had to ask them to send the funds back to the client so I could use a different platform.
Now, most international payment processors are fond of this behavior, but I recently discovered how to receive the funds to your virtual USD accounts (i.e., Grey or Geegpay) or DOM account using WISE without the risk of them withholding your funds when dealing with such clients. That's the trick I'd be sharing here.
When you open a WISE account, your first instinct is usually to request a USD bank account so you can receive payments with the platform and then withdraw to your bank. The downside to this is that when issues arise, your funds are immediately compromised or withheld since it's already in their possession.
What if I told you there was a way to use WISE without actually using their bank account? That's exactly what I did, and I have a friend who has been using it all year without issues. All you have to do is sign up on WISE (if you don't already have an account) but DO NOT request for their USD bank details. Instead, navigate to the "Recipients" tab.
Then click on "Add recipient" and choose "Myself" since it's your personal account you wish to add. Now, fill in all the required details of your Grey, Geegpay, or DOM account (Or whichever account you have).
Once you click on confirm, you'll see a few account settings at the bottom of the account you just added. Ensure you toggle on "Primary USD account," as this would set this account as your main receiving account, meaning any funds sent through WISE to you are directed automatically to this account.
In other words, WISE is simply the middleman between your clients and your primary bank. Funds sent to you are merely forwarded to your main account and never go to a WISE account (for them to get hold of).
Now when your client insist on using a known payment processor, ask them to send it to your WISE account and provide the email linked to it. WISE would forward it to your bank at no additional charge.
