All of the elite athletes I know eat ice cream, pizza, candy, and have an occasional beer.
All of the mediocre athletes who are big on social media: lose their minds at the thought of some of those things.
This holds beyond nutrition.
Build robustness, not fragility.
@thekitze 1. Calorie tracking: set a goal and focus on the weekly average (so you can compensate between days).
2. Activity: 7k+ daily steps (just walk)
3. Workout: schedule it, don't bs yourself with "i'll do it later".
(in that order i think)
aaaand: baby steps > overnight changes
@johnrushx i would start with:
- walking: 7k+ steps a day to improve your base activity
- add more protein in your food
baby steps > changing everything at once
injury/pain:
physical therapist; try to go with one that uses exercises (massages/warming helps but won't fix the core issue)
@PaulaGhete the image you had of the other person is broken. you thought she/he loved you, but then you realize maybe not. And you start to think: maybe you weren't enough. Or that you were living a fake life. And there is a social factor: "that's the person who has been cheated"
Why your favorite hybrid athlete is likely deceiving you.
At 185 lbs (yes not HUGE), I’ve run 1:54 in the 800 and 4:29 in the mile.
I still lift 3x/week. Still try to persevere as much muscle/strength while attempting to really lower those running numbers in the coming months.
But here’s what most people in the hybrid space aren’t telling you.

@brady_h Agree. Same with discipline... at some point, you work out just because it’s a habit you enjoy. You don’t even think about it. Not going might actually feel harder!
@wojakcodes i get adopted by extroverts for some reason, so i know if i expose myself a bit i'll end up socializing. some examples of activities: on-site courses, talks, workshops, crossfit, etc.
@fabianhtml Buen post! También recuerdo haber pasado por un loop así... al final me quedé con ConvertKit que por suerte ahora tiene el plan free (estuve pagando 29USD/m por 1 año). Viste @buttondown ? es una alternativa light
