In a letter to @NFL general managers before the draft, KC Concepcion wrote about the type of player and person he is: “By now you’ve probably heard that I stutter. Everyone has. And look, I get it. It’s a good story. I’m not mad at it. And I appreciate the love. But every time I’ve sat down for an interview that’s where we start, and that’s where we end. The stutter. The stutter. The stutter.

My stutter is part of who I am, but it’s not all of who I am. So, I figured … since I’ve got the pen this time, let me tell you the more complete story.

Here’s who I also am: I’m the best receiver in this draft. Period.

I run crisp routes. I catch everything thrown anywhere near me. I work my tail off every practice, every drill. I get in and out of my breaks fast. And I will outwork ANYBODY you put in front of me.

Off the field, the challenges I’ve faced haven’t just been about having a speech impediment. I also grew up with my dad in and out of prison. And when I was a kid, there were a lot of difficult, lean times when my family didn’t have very much. I had to grow up fast. I had responsibilities and worries most kids my age didn’t have. I’ve faced adversity my entire life, basically.

I wouldn’t change any of it, though. Because all of that has built character and compassion and fearlessness within me. It’s made me into someone I’m genuinely proud to be. Someone who doesn’t quit. Ever.

But you know what … let me back up here for a second. If you really want to know my full story, we have to go all the way back to elementary school.

My family had moved from Rochester down to Charlotte. My dad was the one who first put a football in my hands. He’s the reason I fell in love with the game. But him being in jail meant my mom had to hold it down. For all of us. Alone. She always did her best, went above and beyond, always got us what me and my brothers needed. But sometimes we’d be struggling to make ends meet. It seemed like we always had to be cutting back, or hustling, or going without lots of things just to make sure we had a roof over our heads. Back then, even though I was little, I had to take on a lot of responsibility around the house. My younger brothers looked up to me, and so I kind of always had to be acting older than I actually was. Because I always knew they were watching. I could never really let loose and truly be a kid, you know what I mean?

Emmett, it’s because there is lingering stench on these decisions that have ownership/FO written all over it. If they didn’t try and gaslight us into believing something our eyes are telling us instead of true then maybe we would believe it was Todd making the call - he said it himself - this was an “Organizational Decision” - which we all know means.. my hands were tied but I really wanted to be a HC. This isn’t the first time they have done this just to try and save face for their decisions. It just gets exhausting when the majority of us are born into this ish cause why would anyone openly subject theirselves to this misery

This is just another Haslam choice because he’s still trying to scrape out a.. I wasn’t wrong.. from this debacle. That’s why they had to send all the media parrots to talk up Deshaun for weeks to try and spin the narrative. The only way this makes sense is if Watson is way above Shedeur and that’s just not what anyone with two eyes has seen. I just lost my excitement and my thoughts on Monken have changed now knowing he’s just another chained dog bowing his head

The booing of the Deshaun injury was not collective. I was there. Did it happen? Yes. Though I think it was more of a message to the front office. He wasn’t playing good and hasn’t played good. Fans are tired of it. The FO keeps running him out there to try and prove they weren’t wrong and the fan base is the ones who pay for it. Don’t twist my words, cause booing an injury is asinine. #Browns

I think what is lost on the masses (and I believe it holds true for many aspects of life now) is that we have allowed echo chambers and those who spin narratives to make us a very tribal society, and no amount of yelling and screaming or booing or fluffing will change anyone’s mind once they belong to that particular tribe. It’s just screaming into the abyss, especially on these platforms. I’m a Browns fan/ season ticket holder and I’m there weathering the storm every Sunday at 5am. The feeling I get from the general fandom is exhaustion. Tired of constant laughable moves and turmoil and bad football. Most just want to see wins or sustained competence. We are now at a boiling point because it’s always next year #Browns
