I saw a video of a woman tearing off Tinubu’s face from a banner.

I have no issue with that. The irony, though, was that there were 4 people on the banner 😅. The President, the state governor, and I presume, local government reps or members of the House of Reps.

I wouldn’t have had an issue if she tore all 4 pictures. But she tore one and left the other 3 who are closer to her in the tiers of governance 😭.

The people whose offices directly affect so many of the things she’s clamouring for, based off the perception that the one farther up the ladder is the singular problem.

Bruh, tear all 4 if you want to. But tearing the picture of the person farthest from your street while leaving the ones closer to it is ironic.

It’s important to understand the tiers of government and their respective responsibilities.

This is what we should all be doing but not nonsensical tribal politics that helps no one.

If I have a reason to vote in 2027, I will not be voting for President Tinubu for one reason and that is because of the kid-glove approach towards fighting fake products in Nigeria. It is no longer a fight that NAFDAC must be left alone to fight. Clearly, NAFDAC has proven to be overwhelmed and cannot fight the fight. NAFDAC is limited in resources, manpower and even by legislation.

By now, I expected the President to have declared a national state of emergency on fake products. Fake products manufacturers and sellers are targeting the people of Nigeria in their millions to kill them one by one, while still profiting from it in billions. If the President cannot declare a national emergency on them, he should proscribe them as terrorists and treat them as one, because that is who they are. Economic terrorists and human terrorists.

People spending their hard earned money to buy these products, will still have to spend to seek medical care and the unlucky ones die for no good reasons. Is it until these people eliminate all of us that he will act on it? Refusing to be aggressive and treat these criminals as who they are is really vexing me so bad. How about people’s businesses that they are also destroying?

I was interviewing a young lady this morning who graduated with a Second Class Lower degree. She insisted that she was smart.

I then asked her, “If you are smart, why did you graduate with a Second Class Lower?”

She suddenly broke down in tears.

I asked her why she was crying, and she explained that she lost her mother in her first year at university and her father in her second year.

The emotional trauma affected her concentration, and she struggled to complete her education while dealing with the pain of losing both parents.

I will give her a chance to prove herself.

But this experience has left me with a troubling question:

Does our education system make adequate provisions for young people who go through such devastating experiences?

How many brilliant young people have we written off because their grades failed to reflect their true abilities, without ever asking what they went through?
